Monsters Devour
soft flowing hair
gleam in your eyes
warm inviting smile
drawn to you
could not keep away
together we could
dreams seem fulfilled
as before again
like a faded picture
spirit diminished
how quickly passing
I turn to see
Shocked and sad
not my intension
my tears run
comfortable in the shadows
watch as they pass by
dreaming of the impossible
till I see that certain lighted eyes
